Wrong Selection of Associates in Business
Just as how choosing a mate for marriage impacts your chances at success, so too does your choice of business associates. Indeed this reason for failure is without a doubt one of the most common causes. when you are marketing personal services, be sure to very carefully select those who you associate with because this affects your chances to make money.
Bear in mind that those persons who we associate most closely with are the same persons who we end up emulating.

Uncontrolled Desire for “Something For Nothing”
Come on guys, how many people do you know who got something for nothing? Who can you name who became rich and successful or even just made a little money without doing anything in return? Don’t worry….I’ll wait…..
….Can’t name anyone? Thought so..
Many persons still haven’t given up on this gambling instinct and it has led many persons to failure. Remember that Great Depression of early 20th century? What do you think caused it?

Lack of Persistence
In this life, either we are, or we know someone who is a powerful starter, but very, very poor finishers because we give up at the first sign of defeat. It is said that if a person make persistence a part of their quest for success, “Old Man Failure” eventually becomes tired and will give up leaving you to be a victor!
It is worthy of note that failure cannot cope with persistence, so if you do aim to make money then you will need to become better acquainted with the word persistence.

One of the really MAJOR causes of failure is the habit people have of putting off things until the last minute. The time will never be right, if you don’t attack the problem now, or try to find a solution NOW, a better time may never present itself.
Do your best to address things as soon as the opportunity presents itself. You’ll be surprised at the amount of work you’ll get done. Who knows, a little persistence might just call success and money to you a lot quicker.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are a bit late in bringing yesterday’s post. However, here we present day 7 in our month long series of inspirational posts on the ’31 Major Causes of Failure’
Unfavourable Environmental Influences During Childhood
“As the twig is bent, so shall the tree grow.” If you grew up in a bad environment then chances are that you’ll succumb to negative influences when you grow older. This is of course a hindrance to your drive to succeed and to get money.

There is no way that you will be able to enjoy outstanding success, or any success at all, if you are prone to falling to ill health. Many of the things which cause our health to decline are subject to mastery and control. For the most part, these include:
- Overeating of foods which aren’t conducive to health.
- Wrong habits of thought; giving expression to negatives.
- Wrong use of, and over indulgence in sex.
- Lack of proper physical exercise.
- An inadequate supply of fresh air, due to improper breathing.
So if success and having money is your aim, strive to improve your health today!

Lack of Self-Discipline.
In order for one to be truly disciplined, you must have self-control, meaning that the individual should control their negative qualities. It stands to reason that if you are to control your surroundings, you must first be able to control yourself…well it makes sense to me anyways. This is not an easy task, in fact it has be described as “the hardest job you will ever tackle”. As Plato (correct me if I’m wrong) put it “The first and best victory is to conquer self; to be conquered by self is of all things most shameful and vile.”
Your best friend, and your worst enemy are one and the same person.
